The Interventional Cardiology Unit, led by Daniel Weilenmann MD, offers a broad spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including complex PCI treatment options, management of structural heart diseases and intravascular imaging (OCT, IVUS) and physiology (FFR, iFR, etc.). As an international reference Center for Complex PCI and treatment of chronic total occlusions of coronary arteries (CTO-PCI) it gathers all the expertise to provide state-of-the-art interventional treatments during a 24-hours service ( including ACS patients with STEMI and NSTEMI). The structural heart disease program covers all diagnostic and therapeutic options. The heart team performs percutaneous valve interventions (TAVI, etc.) in collaboration with the University Hospital of Zurich. LAA occlusion, MitraClip, ASD and PFO-closures are done in St. Gallen.
